New Zealand’s finest, Borderline, firmly puts his stamp on the latest release from the Cause4Concern label, C4CDIGUK031, not only with his own Creature Of Habit, but also his remix of C4C’s Eurotrash.
Racking up the hits on Program, Project 51, Trendkill and more, Borderline’s style and passion are the hallmarks of everything his touches. Specialising in everything dark and deep, his sound fits in perfectly with what Cause4Concern are all about. From his solo success on the Flashes Of The Future album on SOM to his remixes of Enei, Trei and Optiv, once you hear Borderline, you’ll never forget.
Creature Of Habit draws you in and drops you out right at the centre of Borderline’s nightmarish vision of the future. Loud, disturbing drums echo out of the intro, backed up with some booming low end. Energy and power emanate out of the track, as does a sense of the producer’s skills and passion. He proceeds to drop things down a level, taking over your brain and body in equal measure. This is uncompromising, dirty and deep drum & bass. Get ready for Creature Of Habit to take over the airwaves and the dancefloors, a mean and muscular new tune from a talented DJ and producer.
The Borderline remix of Cause4Concern’s Eurotrash starts off as a rolling, bubbling tune which adds in infectious electronics to the neat, complete drum work. Things take a turn next, with menace and mayhem offering contrast. Borderline switches up the levels, easily controlling Eurotrash, and turning it into his plaything. Bringing the original kicking and screaming into 2016, the remixer does a perfect job of balancing the old and the new. Chalk this one down as essential.
