DNB Noize February Feature DJ
DJ Trimer and DJ R Double M.
We are pleased to announce February's DJ's Of the Month, after much snow an some minor delays we have finally managed to get the current feature online, this month we will be focusing on the DJ Duo `DJ Trimer` and `DJ R Double M'. Catch these guys each and every Friday from 20:00hrs GMT (Summer: GMT+1) until 22:00hrs only on DnB Noize, playing a wide range of D&B including of `Jump Up`, `Tech`, `Liquid` and `Amen Mash Up`.
The duo's first seed of interest in DJ'ing appears to have started back in around 1994 when DJ Trimer came across some old roast tapes his uncle had lying about and once he was touched by the bass he has never looked back. His interest now well established he then came accross `Eruption FM` and once a friend aquired some turntables, that spurred him on to start collecting vinyl for himself.
Now buying vinyl every couple of weeks from `Blackmarket Records`, `Selectadisc` and `Sister Ray` in Central London Trimmer packed in the plastic but didn't truly get off the ground until 2001 when he got his first pair of Gemini XL100 belt driven decks, DJ Trimer now had free reign to practice and perfect his skills. Then in 2002 he made his break into the Internet Radio world, when his cousin invited him to play along side at 2G FM, he got involved with mixing Garage, R&B, Jungle and of course Drum & Bass every Sunday. It didn't take too long until the station realised that DJ Trimer had it going for him and they invited him to become a resident DJ every Monday Evening.
In 2004 DJ R Double M came into the picture when DJ Trimer lent him a mix tape trademarked with `Oh Boy Chopper Mix` (Remember that one?!? Thought So!!!) which was used as a lure for him to introduce individuals and college friends into Drum & Bass, the `Oh Boy Chopper Mix` tape ended up giving DJ R Double M the bug for this type of music so he in turn managed to grab him self a pair of decks and started learning to mix for him self. In the mean time, DJ Trimer was finishing off university which meant he had to stop the weekly radio set and put his full concentration into study.
When 2006 arrived, DJ Trimer hooked up with DJ Benny B and MC Buster who asked him to help out at the local youth centre in Clapham and New Cross and even though this seemed a daunting prospect, he jump straight in and found it incredibly enjoyable and insightful.
It wasn't until late 2007 that DJ Trimer decided to try his hand at producing and managed to get in contact with an old school friend by the name DJ Skampy who generally played and produced Hardcore and after watching and learning the art of production they created a track together called `Get to it`. With all this under his belt DJ Trimer decided to complete a certificate and then a Diploma in Music Technology and Sound Design at Islington music workshop in a bid to increase his music production knowledge and skill.
2008 has resulted in DJ Trimer hooking up with M2J to collabroate in creating music under the title of `DirtyTrickz`, together they have also remixed DJ SS' Black in a competition at www.back2you.co.uk and currently awaiting the result from the vote off at www.breakbeat.co.uk.
After playing at many internet radio stations, our dj duo have finally ended up at DnBNoize. DnBNoize is extremely proud to have them both onboard. To find out some out about DJ Trimer and DirtyTrickz crew, visit there myspace pages at:
